INTRODUCING THE PISHIELDS.COM TRACKER
The TRACKER is the first of a family of add-on
"shields" for the Raspberry pi from pishields.com.
Features of the TRACKER include:
- Works with Rev 1 (256MB) and Rev 2 (512MB) versions
of the Raspberry pi
- Real-Time clock with battery
- 3-axis accelerometer
- Altimeter
- Gyroscope
- Temperature sensor
- GPS (can be enabled/disabled by the processor to
save power).
- 2 RS-232 ports (1 connected to the ARM, 1
connected to either the PIC or GPS chip - jumper selectable)
- PIC18LF24K22 to handle real-time events.
Communicates with RPi over I2C. Comes pre-programmed, but is reprogrammable
via the serial port by the user.
- 4 channels of 10 bit A/D, 3 single-ended, 1 full
differential
- 1 channel of buffered D/A
- 7 channels of GPIO (independent of the RPi)
- Micro-SD card slot (managed by the PIC) - can
store location or event data independently of the RPi.
- On-board switching regulators (to off-load the
RPi's regulators).
- LEDs for status
- Zero-power switch - completely shuts off ALL
power until awakened by RTC ALARM or user input. RPi can shut down the system
until the next RTC alarm or switch closure.
- RPi GPIO header is extended, allowing for the
addition of more pishields.
The TRACKER is extends slightly over the end of
the RPi board (the SD card end) , but does not extend past
the envelope of the RPi + SD card (see the pictures below).
The TRACKER is perfect for any application where you need
to know the location of something - cars, hikers, drones etc.
